My name is Margaret Ann Watson. I am 66 years young, and have been a
volunteer since 1999. I was born in Oswestry, Shropshire, My father
was a WO11 in the Royal Artillery. F.W.G.Bennet (TIFFY). We had
various postings, Shoeburyness, Pendine, Aberporth, Lichfield, and
finally P.E&E Eskmeals, Cumbria.
We lived in a little village called Bootle. I met my husband ( John)
Who was also in the Royal Artillery.
We married in March 1961 Then we moved to Forfar, Angus Where both
our daughters were born. My husband is a Scot from Ayrshire. We
moved to Oban in 1968. Both daughters married local boys. We are
very proud Grandparents to three Grandsons and two Granddaughters.
I joined the Oban F.M. as a receptionist and general helper. I
learned to engineer, and I must admit I find it great fun (when it
all goes well) I was asked to host a programme, and I specialise in
music from the 40s,50,& 60s. The programme is called "MEMORIES ARE
MADE OF THIS" and is broadcast on Tuesdays from 9.00am to 11.00am
each week. It has proved to be a popular programme with listeners of
all ages. I engineer & present the show myself, which is sponsored
by Mathesons of Oban. I hope to continue to present the show as I
enjoy it so much. So please listen in every Tuesday between 9.00 &
11.00am
